Jai Ho from Slumdog Millionaire ~ (2009)
“Bollywood” movies are being welcomed in the US, and among the most popular has been Slumdog. It opened my eyes to both the mystery, the promise and enigma that is India.
The movie also took an unusual approach in casting. There were 3 main characters with each one played by 3 different actors representing the individual as a child, a teenager, and an adult.
The video Jai Ho (which roughly translates as “Victory to thee“) from the 2009 movie includes amazing choreography on a railway platform. Jai Ho also won an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
