If there\u00a0were\u00a0ever a movie for which the term “one-of-a-kind<\/em>” applies this is it.<\/strong> So far as I can tell nothing like this has ever been seen before nor could it likely ever be replicated — the same actors playing the same characters in a storyline spanning a dozen years.<\/p>\n

There are too many special moments here to begin to list, but one cinematic editing trick, in particular, stands out for me. Specifically, there are no fade-to-black shots or slides saying, like, “… a year later<\/em>“. Rather, the calendar continuously moves forward and each segment\u00a0just\u00a0morphs into the next<\/strong>. At times it is jarring but ultimately keeps you riveted to the screen and the narrative.<\/p>\n
